Exchange account set-up missing for Outlook 2016

I recently upgraded to Office 2016 Preview from Office 2013.  I had several POP / IMAP and Exchange accounts that all worked fine prior to the upgrade.  After the upgrade the POP / IMAP accounts work fine but non of the Exchange accounts work.  I got the following message "Outlook cannot log on. Verify you are connected to the network and are using the proper server and mailbox name. The Microsoft Exchange information service in your profile is missing required information. Modify your profile to ensure that you are using the correct Microsoft Exchange information service" Ok, so deleted the account and tried to set it up again however, under "Add Account" there is no longer an option to set up an Exchange account. There are only two options: 1) Outlook.com or Exchange ActiveSync compatible service or 2) POP or IMAP. The Microsoft Exchange Server or compatible service option is missing?

What type of email account do you use? Do you get any error messages? Does it work in Safe mode?

Was Windows 10 a clean install or an upgrade? If an upgrade, do an online repair of Office. See http://www.slipstick.com/tutorial/repair-office-outlook-installation/ for screenshots and more information.

1--I went from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10 Insider preview; then it upgraded a couple of days ago.

2--I uninstalled Office 2016 preview (according to instructions), then re-installed it.

3--It opens in Safe mode, and gets me to the Add User page.  I tried this, and fill out the Exchange user info.  It does Establish Network Connection, then Searching for ....   it gets stuck at this point. Then it says "We are having group connection....", i retry, ditto.

4--If i quit this, it goes back to the msg.

It is possible that this is happening because I am using the Windows 10 Mail App?  I have that app set to my Exchange account, and receive mail fine.  I also have W 2016 on a MAC and it worked fine.

5--I also tried add account from the Control Panel / Mail for Office 2016 applet.  Tried to add the user

6--I tried the Exchange ActiveSync server, still does not work.

No, it's probably not due to the Mail app.

What is the complete error message? Are you adding an account to an existing profile or creating a new profile?

When opening outlook: Outlook cannot log on. Verify you are connected to the network and are using the proper server and mailbox name. The MS Ex information service in your profile is missing required information.  Modify your profile to ensure you are using the correct MS Ex information servvice"

When I hit ok "Cannot Start MS Outlook.  Cannot open the outlook windows.  The set of folders cannot be opened.  The information store cannot be opened".

When i start in safe mode, or go to mail applet, and do Add Acount

    does Establish network connection

    Searching for ....

Says: We are having trouble connection to your account.  Verify the settings below and make changes if necessary.

If i do change account settings, and try Outlook.com or ExchangeActiveSync,

Log onto Ex ActiveSync mail server.  The username or password you entered isn't working. Please try them again.

Also...  When i set up my account on Mac or the Windows 10 mail app, at one point it asks for my email address (******@mailbox.sc.edu) and mail server (webmail.sc.edu) and domain name (DS); but in the Outlook 2016 Windows version it only asks for email address and mail server, not my domain name; and not my username on the domain.
