I recently upgraded to Office 2016 Preview from Office 2013. I had several POP / IMAP and Exchange accounts that all worked fine prior to the upgrade. After the upgrade the POP / IMAP accounts work fine but non of the Exchange accounts work. I got the following message "Outlook cannot log on. Verify you are connected to the network and are using the proper server and mailbox name. The Microsoft Exchange information service in your profile is missing required information. Modify your profile to ensure that you are using the correct Microsoft Exchange information service" Ok, so deleted the account and tried to set it up again however, under "Add Account" there is no longer an option to set up an Exchange account. There are only two options: 1) Outlook.com or Exchange ActiveSync compatible service or 2) POP or IMAP. The Microsoft Exchange Server or compatible service option is missing?

No joy. I implemented the reg entry, deleted the autodiscover xml files -- and tried to create a new outlook profile via autodiscover.
Simply doesn't want to complete the autodiscover.
Reverting back to the profile created via Outlook 2013 restores my connectivity.
Rackspace did not give an ETA, but did say the issue is on their radar :)

Alright here's my update. The POP/SMTP solution wasn't actually pushing my e-mail. Apologies if I got hopes up. I really hope Microsoft fixes this.

I'm having the same issue when trying to setup my outlook.com address in Outlook 2016
error message "An encrypted connection to your mail server is not available. Click next
to attempt using an unencrypted connection" but also fails.

Hi. I can offer you my workaround:
Install Outlook 2013 and get it set up for your email. Then install Outlook 2016 as an upgrade.
Or, if you're capable, you can export the registry section for the Outlook profile and keep it for future use -- that's what I have done. Simply importing it into the registry creates the needed profile -- with the "grandfathered" features to make it work with Outllook 2016.
Diane, I really hope you guys are considering adding back in the current interoperability -- why remove a setup which works great for many people!?!?!

So how is it setup?. I am using surface pro .outlook won't even start. I have the default w10 mail set up fine.
