Exchange account set-up missing for Outlook 2016

I recently upgraded to Office 2016 Preview from Office 2013.  I had several POP / IMAP and Exchange accounts that all worked fine prior to the upgrade.  After the upgrade the POP / IMAP accounts work fine but non of the Exchange accounts work.  I got the following message "Outlook cannot log on. Verify you are connected to the network and are using the proper server and mailbox name. The Microsoft Exchange information service in your profile is missing required information. Modify your profile to ensure that you are using the correct Microsoft Exchange information service" Ok, so deleted the account and tried to set it up again however, under "Add Account" there is no longer an option to set up an Exchange account. There are only two options: 1) Outlook.com or Exchange ActiveSync compatible service or 2) POP or IMAP. The Microsoft Exchange Server or compatible service option is missing?

Yeah, autodiscover should work with Rackspace or any of the other 'big guys'. My best wild guess is that they don't have MAPI over HTTP enabled and Outlook 2016 looks for it. If it picked up the old profile, it might use RPC over HTTP. That is just a wild guess as to what the problem could be.

Hi Diane, my Exchange provider (Rackspace, a major "Microsoft Partner") has had autodiscover available for years now..  but when I performed a clean install of Outlook 2016 Preview the autodiscover did not work.

I had to install Outlook 2013, setup email (using autodiscover!) and then upgrade to 2016.

    ???

    Thanks/jim

Thought I'd add my own experience to this issue.  Clean Win10 build 10162 install.  Installed Office 2016 Preview.  No previous office versions have been installed.  Open Outlook and enter my email/password for our domain which is running on Office 365.  Setup works, emails download and continue to work while outlook remains open.  Close outlook, open outlook and this error occurs.  I tried deleting the profile and re-creating it but it is unable to connect.  Restart computer, new profile is created successfully and emails download.  Close/re-open outlook and receive the error again.

I just double checked our autodiscover settings and they look fine.  All other outlook versions are working fine and have been for some time.  Just 2016 that doesn't work.  And this is running on Microsofts own office 365 servers.  And it obviously can connect once.  It just can't reconnect ever again after that.

Is there a uservoice page to request this feature ?

Seems really annoying that I can setup exchange accounts just fine in Windows 8 and Windows 10 mail (even Windows Phone !), but cannot do it outlook 2016.

This is a HUGE regression !
