Exchange account set-up missing for Outlook 2016

I recently upgraded to Office 2016 Preview from Office 2013.  I had several POP / IMAP and Exchange accounts that all worked fine prior to the upgrade.  After the upgrade the POP / IMAP accounts work fine but non of the Exchange accounts work.  I got the following message "Outlook cannot log on. Verify you are connected to the network and are using the proper server and mailbox name. The Microsoft Exchange information service in your profile is missing required information. Modify your profile to ensure that you are using the correct Microsoft Exchange information service" Ok, so deleted the account and tried to set it up again however, under "Add Account" there is no longer an option to set up an Exchange account. There are only two options: 1) Outlook.com or Exchange ActiveSync compatible service or 2) POP or IMAP. The Microsoft Exchange Server or compatible service option is missing?

It's really ridiculous that we have to use Outlook 2016 in this conditions provided by MICROSOFT for us!

My own notebook will never join in my corp's domain and i have to use Exchange. I want to use Outlook 2016 in my own PC but i can't!

And i see "UPGRADE YOUR OFFICE to 2016" **** every day!

DEAR MICROSOFT! I CANNOT USE OUTLOOK 2016! COS I CANNOT ADD MY EXCHANGE ACCOUNT MANUALLY! IF YOU WANT THAT I USE OFFICE 2016 THEN WOULD YOU PLEASE ENABLE MANUALLY ADD EXCHANGE ACCOUNT OPTION IN OUTLOOK 2016!

    Thank you...

In the past, exchange accounts were picked up no problem, but because of changes in how Outlook connects to exchange, the Exchange account doesn't always migrate to the 2016 profile - mine did, but I used 2013 and an Office 365 account. (Autodiscover is much easier for end-users and has a lot fewer problems than manual configuration. The problem is many admins didn't configure it properly, if at all.)

Then the UPGRADE process should not remove the previous account profile, which it currently does.  This is a BAD HABIT of M$ software.    If an exchange account profile exists for Office 2013, Office 2016 should respect and use it, instead of deleting it and breaking things, tho, quite frankly, since there are so many issues with autodiscover, it would be better to simply return the option for manual setup.

Do you have a profile set up yet? If not, the first time you open it, the "first use" wizard opens. Enter your email address and password when asked. Outlook will do the rest. If it can't find your server information, you'll need to get setup instructions from your email host and set it up manually.

If you are using Exchange server you can only use auto account setup - enter your email address and password. If your exchange server is not properly configured for auto account setup, you should tell your email admin to properly configure the server for autodiscover. Otherwise, you need to create an xml file as mentioned above. I have instructions for this near the end of the article at https://www.slipstick.com/outlook/exchange-account-set-up-missing-in-outlook-2016/
