Visual Basic Support in Mac 2016

You're right. I read reviews that reported that this was what MIcrosoft were doing. I think the reviewers didn't test the product, certainly not the VB Editor.

Also experiencing the disappointment that is Excel 2016 for OSX on my home computer after installing it one week ago.  I am actually stunned at how bad VBA is (would add the complaint that there is apparently no Find command for searching for things in code.  Really?).  I wish I could get my money back.

Based on my experience at work, I highly recommend running Parallels and Office for PC if you need to do VBA development on a Mac.  That is actually a surprisingly good experience.  Parallels makes it possible to make Windows Office the default when an Office document is double clicked on a Mac, so you can be somewhat oblivious to the fact that you are doing things in a Windows application rather than a native Mac app.  I am running Parallels 11 with Windows 7 and Office 2013 (for now at least) on a new Macbook Pro.  I do a lot of VBA development and distribute this code to Window only folks in my company.  I give Parallels 11 a strong endorsement as best of both worlds.

What a mistake I made!  I deleted Office 2011 before installing 2016.  The missing VBA development enviroment makes this product useless for me and my customers.

Am I missing something? I've been periodically using the Excel 2016 for Mac updates but quickly abandoned them because my sheets rely so heavily on VBA and support for that seemed to be missing. 

I've updatd to the production version today (15.2)...and it still seems to be the case? The Visual Basic editor is..ahem...extremely basic with no menus, right click functions or anything. No ability to insert new modules either. Shortcuts don't work (breakpoint, run etc). 

What's going on? Is this it? Please tell me there's some security setting i need to switch or something...please tell me there's basically no way to create macros enabled spreadsheets in Office for Mac 2016?

I can't believe I paid for Office 2016 for Mac , now, finding the lack of support for VBA. What a piece of ***!. Excel used to be my go to tool, now Office 2013 (PC) becomes unresponsive and Office 2016 (Mac) has little of the functions I need (or even had in Office 2011 for Mac). Without improvements to the Mac version, there's little point in continuing to use this tool, our  frankly, any of the Microsoft Office suite.
