Visual Basic Support in Mac 2016

Hi

Am I missing something? I've been periodically using the Excel 2016 for Mac updates but quickly abandoned them because my sheets rely so heavily on VBA and support for that seemed to be missing. 

I've updatd to the production version today (15.2)...and it still seems to be the case? The Visual Basic editor is..ahem...extremely basic with no menus, right click functions or anything. No ability to insert new modules either. Shortcuts don't work (breakpoint, run etc). 

What's going on? Is this it? Please tell me there's some security setting i need to switch or something...please tell me there's basically no way to create macros enabled spreadsheets in Office for Mac 2016?

Hi Roberto,

You're not missing anything. UserForm support is being built right now and should be available in a few weeks. I don't expect userform support to arrive during the holidays, but I hope we have it before spring.

Thanks Gordon for the answer. I will wait after the holidays the microsoft present for christmas.

    Microsoft has stated that they are porting the VB Editor from 2011 to 2016 for Mac. The wait has been long. Hopefully, the wait is almost over.

    I was in this thought cycle too and eventually realized that I had to bail on Office 2016.  I feel bad for those that can't go back to 2011.  Its a breathe of fresh air after dealing with 2016 for a month.

    ... I greet each update with anticipation and then disappointment. I would have thought that this would have been fixed by now...

    Unfortunately I held off buying Office for Mac 2011 until 2016 came out and paid the additional fee for it and was alarmed like you that the VBA editor was non-existent. I cannot revert to a previous product. I greet each update with anticipation and then disappointment. I would have thought that this would have been fixed by now.

    I edit using an old Vista Windows laptop running Excel 2000 but I vow never to buy another Microsoft product. My mistrust of Microsoft extends also to journalists writing magazine reviews, none of which tested or attempted to test the VBA side just concentrating on "great new features".

    Yes. You can have side by side installation in Mac.

    I just found out, the IT did not update my office but did side by side installation.

    I was able to work today. But there shouldn't be a need for side by side installation.

    This is not some product created by a teenager. This is a product which probably cost

    several $100,000 or millions of dollars to develop and promote.
