Pinned Items in Office 2016 not sorted alphabetically

The pinned list is different from a most-recently-used list.  It is for permanent (hence the word "pinned"!) listings.  By definition they are all used routinely, so sorting them alphabetically is the only way to find the one you want quickly.  What follows after the pinned list is the MRU list.  The combination of the two lists worked well before 2016; now the pinned list is not nearly as useful.  I say go back to alphabetical order, and you don't even need a user config. switch.  The new way is simply bad.

My pinned files are those that I use once a month or biweekly or for reference, but need quick, easy access to.  I don't need them sorted by which was used most recently because that doesn't matter at all for a pinned file - I "pinned" it for access purposes, meaning I don't want to have to search for it every time I need it.  By mixing up the order, Microsoft has eliminated part of the ease of having a pinned list of files.  Yes, the files are all in one place now, but the "pinned files" area acts almost like another file folder, and file names are ALWAYS alphabetized in file folders.  This new way makes absolutely no sense to me.  If I want MRU files, I'll look in that area.

Thanks for taking this back to the Engineering Team.  Designing an option for how the user wants to sort the pinned documents makes the most sense.  Please ensure that they understand this should apply to all Office apps, not just Excel.

Most recent documents is a HUGE productivity enhancer for me.  I primarily use Ppt, Excel, and Word.  Can they please make recent documents the first thing I see when I select "File"?  For the life of me, I cannot understand why it takes me to the Info page.  What a useless page.
