Pinned Items in Office 2016 not sorted alphabetically

The title says it all.  Whereas in Office 2013 pinned recent items automatically got sorted alphabetically this is no longer the case in any programme in Office 2016.  This is extremely frustrating.  Any fix?

    Again, MS assumes it knows how  I use Excel. Give me the option to sort alphabetically. Don't tell me what's best.

    Just an observation;

    MS is damned if they do and damned if they don't - it might be nice if it was a user option, but I think in the scheme of things that would be problematic implement.
