Pinned Items in Office 2016 not sorted alphabetically

The title says it all.  Whereas in Office 2013 pinned recent items automatically got sorted alphabetically this is no longer the case in any programme in Office 2016.  This is extremely frustrating.  Any fix?

    I just noticed that the latest version of Office 365 has restored alphabetic sorting. My version identifies itself as Office Version 1610 build 74466.2038, Excel 2016 MSO 16.0.7426.1015 64-bit. I hope it stays this way, but I am very jaded by now.

    Hmmm, your point is irrelevant.  If that's your argument, how about these...  At one time, man didn't comprehend fire, so the next time you're cold because you have no heat, keep it in perspective.  And there was a time when man hadn't yet discovered the wheel, so next time you have a flat and can't get to where you were going, keep it in perspective.

    Back in my day file names were limited to eight character plus a three digit extension.  To open a file required a "call" to a "subroutine" where the input required was the full path and file name.  You crossed your fingers and hoped you didn't mis-type any of the "arguments".  So please, lets have some perspective.

    that has to be the stupidest mindset for pinned items...who searches a list that way??  would you try to find a contact in your contacts sorted by phone number???  totally beyond stupid.

    The automatic "insider" tag under your name shows you are either a Windows of Office "insider".  At some point you click on a link (actually probably more than one link) to join the "insider" program.  Unfortunately the tag does not identify if we are Windows or Office insiders (hint hint moderators/owners).  We can assume for now that you are an Office insider.

    Being an insider simple means that you have volunteered to be an unpaid "crash test dummy" for MS. As an insider you have told MS that you are willing to let them send you program code they think is ready to be distribute to the general public. Buy sending this code to insiders outside of MS they get to test in the real world on a wide variety of environments that even MS could not afford to setup and staff.

    Being an insider has 2 issues.  First, you have to invest time to keep up to date on what is new in each release.  Second is that you may be luck enough to find a problem in the code, at best the feature just doesn't work, worst case it causes the program to abend. Abends are a real problem if the corrupt your files, cause you to lose work and possibly prevent you from finishing important work.   This is an aspect of being an insider that the "average" volunteer simply does not understand or appreciate fully.
