Pinned Items in Office 2016 not sorted alphabetically

The title says it all.  Whereas in Office 2013 pinned recent items automatically got sorted alphabetically this is no longer the case in any programme in Office 2016.  This is extremely frustrating.  Any fix?

    Users should have the option to sort alphabetically or by most recent.  Until that change is made, please revert to sorting alphabetically; otherwise it is too time-consuming to review the entire list of pinned files looking for the one you need.  Thanks.

    Like others have said we keep pinned lists for a reason - they are regularly used files. To scan through that list to find the one you want is time wasting, can't we have the option to choose one or the other (as some prefer it and others don't)?

    Agree with original poster.   I upgraded from Office 2013 to 365 in June 2018 and this is the first thing I noticed.  Pinned files preferred to be in alphabetical order.   How difficult would it be to add a checkbox to sort either by last modified date or alphabetically?

    So disappointing to see that this is STILL an issue.   I just got upgraded to Office 2016 a month ago.   And all is fine with the new features except the pinned items is driving me crazy , I have about 10 frequently used files and it just makes perfect sense they stay in the same order.   I was positive I was missing a custom setting somewhere.  So then starting searching and found this post in the community.   Blows my mind that this is not an option.   This original post is now 2 years old.  Come on Microsoft

    • this cannot be that big of a deal to make as a user option.   Disappointing!!
