How to reduce the size of quick access toolbar icons? (Office 2016)

With the update to Office 2016 the Quick Access Toolbar icons were enlarged.

I used to have a filled Quick Access toolbar for Excel and now they do not fit defeating the purpose.

Is there any way to reduce the size of Quick Access Toolbar items?

Folks, our shared UX controls team have been following this thread, as well as your requests on UserVoice and are spinning up some work to address your concerns. I can't promise a specific date for getting this work out to you all, but they recognize the impact this has had on those of you who work with customized QAT and are moving very quickly.

When they're done you'll see the improvement arrive as part of the regular updates we send all subscription customers.

Thanks again for the clear feedback, both here and on UserVoice - keep it coming!

Cheers...pc

    Nick,

Thanks for alerting me.  Stopped daily updating some days ago.  So pleased to see the return of the QAT to it's former dimensions.

To Microsoft:  Thank you.  Just what I need.

    hurrah at last it's done.

(i'm set to standard - Office 2016 is buggy enough without risking first release)

    Wondering...

Do those of you on Office 365 that got the QAT fix, and are still monitoring this thread, have their updates set to First Release instead of Standard as described here...

@Patrick and/or anyone else, Microsoft or otherwise, would setting my account to First Release expedite delivery of the fix??

    Lee,

I caught an update last week and got all excited.

I was upgraded from 16.0.6366.2056 to 2062 but still no change to the QAT.

    I figure I'll get it when I don't want it anymore... it's a Zen thing :)

@Brian, I'm pretty sure that if you put in another reply and uncheck

"Notify me when someone responds to this post"

... before submitting the notifications will stop.
