Making desktop onenote default for windows 10

Hello,

Do you have multiple version of OneNote or OneNote app installed on the computer along with the desktop version?

I have the same issue. I have both the default and desktop versions installed. When I open the desktop version it asks if I want to set it as the default. I say yes but it then tells me to go to settings, system, default apps and set it there. but how?

I selected all that it allows me to set by protocol, but the middle one doesn't have an option for OneNote desktop. 

When I click my pen top it still opens the non desktop version of the OneNote app.

I have the 'surface' app installed and that doesn't seem to apply the correct setting either....

also when viewing via program associations you cannot de-select the URL:onenote-cmd selection (selecting desktop version as well makes no difference)

So how do you set OneNote (desktop) to be the default OneNote app on windows 10? Especially how do you make it open when you click the pen top or select note from the right hand swipe?

although Cortana does appear to play nice and open the desktop version when asked to 'launch onenote 2013'

that is the exact same screen i see, it doesn't let me change the Onenote-cmd to open the onenote desktop

this is really annoying because onenote desktop is far superior

I'm having the same problem. For whatever it's worth, the new version of OneNote hijacked the buttons on my surface pen as well. I believe it may be because it is integrated with Windows 10, but a fix would be greatly appreciated.

Same issue here on a Surface 3 with Windows 10 Home.. J opened the desktop version of Onenote and was presented with the choice to make it the default version. When I tap yes I was warned to do it in default program settings. I went to default settings and made Onenote desktop the default for all it's protocols yet the pen still brings up the win10 built in app.

Granted this new version seems better than the 8.1 version... but I still need the Desktop version, want to open it with a pen click,, and yeah.. the surface app also has no effect.

I'm also unable to select ANY default calendar despite being able to make Outlook 2013 my default mail program.

NOBODY found this in beta testing??

Also, As I type this I notice that anywhere I tap with my finger is d right-click instead of a normal tap unless I use the pen. Ugh. Sp1, where are you??
