Quick Access Toolbar Office 2016 Icon Spacing too big

The funny thing is, MS boasts about the interface adjusting to the environment it is running on, PC, Tablet, Smartphone... well why are we getting a GUI that is made for fat fingers on a small display on a non-touch LED display that works with a physical keyboard and mouse? Gents in Seattle, pull the fingers from your ears and action to get the paying customers the appropriate interface that goes with the matching hardware?

Absolutely agree. The QAT has become almost unusable with room for far fewer icons and a colour scheme designed to make it illegible.

Big boo boo Microsoft. Time to demonstrate agility in getting this fixed!

As uninstalling 2013, booting, installing 2016 did not change the other major issue... Excel crashing on some of my bigger workbooks, cannot test, but there's theme's that would make it 'easier on the eyes'.

The article has not been updated to indicate if this too applies to Office 2016, except for Outlook 2016? I'll postpone retrying until the matter of the icon spacing and the crashing [appcrash excel.exe] has been addressed.

Having had 100 customized commands in Word 2003, I concur with all the feedback to Microsoft to improve the QAT.  From a technical perspective, ever since Word 2007, the QAT sucked.

EASIEST APPROACH, by far, is to move it to the left side and allow it to wrap.  Of course, this is not supported.  Main advantage on widescreen displays of this approach is that you don't lose valuable vertical space (I draw pictures that are 7" tall and can seldom see the entire page unless I put on my binoculars).

I was so happy when I installed Office 2016, loved it. But I also found it ridiculous that the spacing between QAT commands was so big. I have quite a few commands. Then I found about the mouse/touch mode and it was perfect. All commands with almost no spacing in between, all fit in my screen perfectly. 

But suddenly one day the spacing became too big again... No use to go to mouse mode because I was already there...

So I thought maybe some Office update might have screwed this. And it was like that. I uninstalled Office and made a new clean installation. All good. Of course I disabled Office updates...

But then... I installed a language pack to change the interface language to Spanish (in fact I was also using before before the Indonesian language pack). And after I installed the Spanish language pack it was screwed again.

Seems that there is a problem with latest updates or languages packs or both. Now I have to work in ENglish and no Indonesian proofing but... QAT is right...
