Quick Access Toolbar Office 2016 Icon Spacing too big

I agree, the icon size is totally unacceptable.  Office is work software.  Not happy-go-playtime tablet software.  I have thousands of lines of VBA code, and it was hard enough not filling up the old toolbar with macros and built-in commands.  If the goal here was to make it more difficult to access the complex functionality of Office so that people could focus more on the actual writing, then I'd say this particular change will be a great success. Admittedly, I'm happy with a lot of the other changes (finally a dark background for the interface).  But for the icons I give Microsoft a Microscoff.

Yes, the original content was intended for business users with the exchange issue.  You have 2 options, be "creative with the facts"  <grin>. Maybe you can bafflegab them into helping you too, now that the precedent has been set ...

There is also the alternative of using the "Deployment Tool". If you take a look at this article it describes how to use the tool to create a customized 2013 OR 2016 CTR deployment bundle:

This tool is intended for Business Office Administrators.  Apparently it may also be used for consumer Office bundles. (I have not tried it myself, rohn 007).  Notice that it explicitly includes “Office 365 Home Premium” and “HomeStudentRetail” (aka Office 2013) in the list of bundles supported.

The article describes how to exclude specific applications, like Outlook.

Thanks EntryRun, that did the trick.  I've now managed to go back to the future :)  Still feel a bit let down that a MS upgrade turned out to be such a backwards step.  In the past, when there's been a major change, it may have taken a while to get used to, but once past the learning curve, you knew you would at least be better off.  This is the first upgrade I can recall (I never went to Vista and haven't got to Win 8 yet) where I felt worse off and where there has been no future upside - just something MS should have done better...

Thanks, I managed to put my vote in - need another three for MS to take it seriously, but already a heap of other people have obviously had the same issue.  As you seem to be pretty high up the MS chain, maybe you could give the extend option for ribbon mouse setting to the QAT a bit of a hurry up :)

Seems to me if MS is going to put a no rollback policy on a service people pay a subscription for, then there should be a very clear warning.  If it doesn't actually breach fair trading acts, it certainly breaches a few ethical boundaries...
