    Hi,

Use this Bat file and Reset the All Jump List then try it!

When I pin files in Excel 2016, they are there while the application is open but, when I close out of excel, they are all gone and I have to go find the files again... :(  Is this what happens to you?

No, my files stay pinned except that a couple of times I've lost all of them at once - I think after updates.

Yes...this was the workaround I used as well (before seeing your post). Not perfect, but at least reduces the number of keystrokes necessary to save to preferred locations.

Set your preferred Office Program (e.g. Excel or Word) as default to open Office (Excel or Word, or ...) files.

Associate the program to the file type:

System -> Settings -> Default Apps -> Choose Default Apps by File Type.

Open the Folder or File in Excel or Word or ....

On the TaskBar, Select the File or Folder and select "Pin to This List".

    Voila..
