I was trying to get the MS people to actually tell us when it is intentional and when it's a bug. Why can't they state clearly "we chose to remove this feature for these reasons....." instead of just implying it might have been on purpose? All I want is simple truthful statements that include reasons for the changes. Reasons that actually exist.

Didn't they remove the start menu from Windows without any explanation? Maybe this removal gets enough backlash for them to reconsider and bring it back.

Until then, I am staying the previous version.

I have the same issue... that "pin folder" option is lost... Microsoft maybe thinking it's of no use when in fact it's very useful for many... hoping to hear solutions or workaround on this or new updates from Microsoft themselves...

Same for me.  I've been with Office 2016 for over a month.  The pinned folders feature went away on 2/25/16.  What gives anyway?  I can't even find the update that did this dastardly deed to uninstall it.

It was the last update (see the section "Office suite: Feature updates"):

Folder browse capability in File > Save As: Use full folder navigation in File > Save As in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint for OneDrive folders, OneDrive for Business folders, and This PC.

I also hated it and revert it back to the previous version.

This "folder browse capability" is worse than using the SAVE AS separate window! So, not only they removed an important and useful feature (pinned/recent folders), but also created a crippled folder browse for the place.

    Wow, just wow.

Existing pinned folder functionality removed in my Excel 2016 on 24 Feb 2016.   Was working until a new MS update.  Now gone.   **** MS?  Removing functionality I use a 20-50 times a day.  Why?   Why break my program and cause me extra work?
