I can not pin folders anymore in excel or word 2016

I don't see the File > Feedback on either my Win 7 or Win 10 computers
I also don't know why Microsoft would remove this essential feature.
No File -> Feedback -> Add Feedback button in my Excel 2016 version. Did they drop this as well?
Yes, they did. But they did tell us it was intentional as opposed to a bug.
That's all I'm after. Acknowledgement that the change was intended or that it's a bug? Clearly stated not implied.

Folder browse capability in File > Save As: Use full folder navigation in File > Save As in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint for OneDrive folders, OneDrive for Business folders, and This PC.

They intentionally changed the way SAVE AS window works. Why did they do that? Did they really think people would prefer this behavior of SAVE AS (already available by clicking "browse") instead of the useful recent/pinned folders? I have no idea - people do stupid things sometimes.
Honestly, I hated this change so much that I went back to the previous version - and I will stay there until they fix this stupidity or something really great (like, REALLY great) comes up in a future version.
I can't see anywhere on that page that says they removed the ability to pin folders. I see lots of things added, but no mention of things that have been removed.
So, I'm still trying to find out where MS tell us what's gone.

This option only exists if you are using Windows 10 (source).
There's a topic about it on Word's uservoice forum and one on the Excel's forum, but none of them has a reply from MS.
I seriously don't understand the reason behind this change. Were people complaining?
I am still on the version 16.0.6366.2068 because of this issue - and I don't plan to update my Office till they fix this annoying change!
