Hi,
I just upgraded to Office 2016 via the Office 365 subscription. Working on a Surface Pro 3 and Windows 10. I am mostly using OneNote 2016 to take handwritten notes using the Surface Pen.
The disappearing ink issue, (that was a problem in the OneNote 2013 edition, until it was fixed), seems to be back: parts of written stuff disappear. I was writing in OneNote 2016, and out of nowhere, parts of what I had written earlier disappeared. Though the issue is not as severe as it was earlier, when the disappearing was very frequent.
This needs to be fixed ASAP, it renders OneNote not very useful for note-taking!

I am using version 16.0.6001.1003 - with text recognition set to off. So far no issues - although even minor earlier versions caused me issues.
I posted a description about the ink disappearing bugs in a post in : http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/insider/forum/insider\_office-insider\_onenote/inking-in-onenote-on-surface-pro-3-disappears/b6c5f168-f4dd-48ef-996b-8b933a28da9c?page=23
As I said there, we want the best ink experience for our users and we are actively investigating the ink disappearing bug.
Please try the suggestion I gave earlier and disable handwriting recognition. If you are on Win10, you should also install the latest updates especially KB3093266.

On a lot of PCs, the mentioned update cannot be installed successfully - mine included.
In the meantime KB3097617 was released - I was hoping that it will resolve the issue.
Nope. Still unable to install; this is the second cumulative update I had to block - it is getting a bit ridiculous.
