GREAT call - - you're absolutely right - it started right around when 2016 was released. Will try it out!

Hi,
I just upgraded to Office 2016 via the Office 365 subscription. Working on a Surface Pro 3 and Windows 10. I am mostly using OneNote 2016 to take handwritten notes using the Surface Pen.
The disappearing ink issue, (that was a problem in the OneNote 2013 edition, until it was fixed), seems to be back: parts of written stuff disappear. I was writing in OneNote 2016, and out of nowhere, parts of what I had written earlier disappeared. Though the issue is not as severe as it was earlier, when the disappearing was very frequent.
This needs to be fixed ASAP, it renders OneNote not very useful for note-taking!

Is there a similar 'disable' feature in the rest of the Office Suite? (PPT, Word, Excel)
I have this problem too: In ON 2016, when I write anything with the pen, it draws on the screen and then at most a second later, it disappears. I have handwriting recognition disabled. I am currently on:
Windows 10 Pro, version 1607
OS build 14393.447
i5-63000U CPU
8GB
64 Bit OS
Surface Pro 4.
But I doubt that info is relevant, as I had the same problem on a Surface Pro 3 last year. I brought it into an MS Store, and they had me wipe and reinstall the OS twice before they gave up and actually gave me a new computer. I installed Office 2016 on it and had exactly the same problem. I uninstalled it and went back to 2013.
The version of ON 2016 I have now is:
1610 (build 7466.2038)
I really thought this nasty bug would have been fixed by now...
I am new to surface and purchased the Surface Pro 4 basically for the express purpose of OneNote (desktop) and its note taking and audio recording features. My system is new and completely up to date. Why is this still happening? I will write something as part of a chemical reaction mechanism, and when I'm near the end of a complicated one, random intermediates will disappear as I'm writing. Also, the program crashes all the time while trying to record audio. And sometimes when it does record audio, it's just an empty file of the same length....
WHY is this still happening? After just having gotten this most high-end of tablets for this express purpose!?
Encountered a variation of this problem today: ink disappears while I'm writing, then reappears as soon as I lift the pen.
This happens on both my Lenovo Yoga S1 tablet PC, and my desktop computer with an external Wacom tablet.
