Hi,
I just upgraded to Office 2016 via the Office 365 subscription. Working on a Surface Pro 3 and Windows 10. I am mostly using OneNote 2016 to take handwritten notes using the Surface Pen.
The disappearing ink issue, (that was a problem in the OneNote 2013 edition, until it was fixed), seems to be back: parts of written stuff disappear. I was writing in OneNote 2016, and out of nowhere, parts of what I had written earlier disappeared. Though the issue is not as severe as it was earlier, when the disappearing was very frequent.
This needs to be fixed ASAP, it renders OneNote not very useful for note-taking!

It’s been a while since I posted, so I want to check in and give you a quick update. On behalf of the team, I want to thank everyone who has graciously helped us troubleshoot thus far and apologize for the inconvenience this has caused you.
While recent updates appear to have fixed most of the disappearing ink issues, it sounds like some of you are still running into this. If you are still seeing the issue, please post here with details on the OneNote version number and if the bug continues to happen even after hand writing recognition is disabled.

According to your description, I have the C2R version of office 2016. I tried updating, but it says that its already upto date, but the version is only 16.0.6001.1034 still?

I'm having this same problem on a HP Revolve 810 G2 using the HP Executive Pen. However, for me it's happening in Powerpoint. I have tried different versions of Office (2007, 2013, and 2016) and the issue is the same across all versions. The issue seems to happen only when I'm in presentation mode. It doesn't happen when in slide view. It also seems to happen only when my palm is resting on the laptop screen, however, I have turned off touch input completely in the pen and touch settings (so when I use my finger to touch the screen, nothing happens), so I don't know why it's sensing my palm. Like there is in Onenote, there isn't a setting to "Turn off automatic learning" in the Powerpoint settings. I do have it disabled in the pen and touch settings. Office should be up to date. I have also tried another Revolve 810 G2 and I was able to replicate the problem, so the issue isn't limited to just that one device. Please help!
It seems that you are on the Deferred Channel branch. We recently released an update on that branch. Please run the update again, it should change the version number to 16.0.6001.1061, which contains all the ink fixes we've released so far.
