Disappearing Ink problem in OneNote 2016 + Surface Pro 3

Hi,

I just upgraded to Office 2016 via the Office 365 subscription. Working on a Surface Pro 3 and Windows 10. I am mostly using OneNote 2016 to take handwritten notes using the Surface Pen.

The disappearing ink issue, (that was a problem in the OneNote 2013 edition, until it was fixed), seems to be back: parts of written stuff disappear. I was writing in OneNote 2016, and out of nowhere, parts of what I had written earlier disappeared. Though the issue is not as severe as it was earlier, when the disappearing was very frequent.

This needs to be fixed ASAP, it renders OneNote not very useful for note-taking!

I have surface pro 3 with a main reason to have OneNote and since im software architect, i love to draw and make lots of notes. I bought office 365 and upgraded to 2016.

I was designing a block diagram and the pieces start to disappear including text. You can image my face describing the problem that i was solving to the stakeholders. It was not very nice.

Guys, i make software, i know that we make bugs, but can on, this type of bugs pop up on quality steps easily.

Can Microsoft fix it quickly please?

    Best Regards

Hi I have same problem. Ink disappearing. Running Office 2016 on Surface Pro 3. As I use ink note for almost all of my notes, it is very big problem to use this version of SW. I am very angry as this is core feature on SP3 and main marketing point of MS, they should be 100% clear it works OK before launching new product. :-(

Hope you are working on it guys.

I am a big fan of MS products, and I work entirely within the MS ecosystem. I use inking regularly for notes. Disappearing ink is a major malfunction in a flagship product.

Granted, the problem is ameliorated by switching off handwriting recognition. But to have to resort to such a tactic should be simply an astonishing embarrassment to the Office development team.

Could we get some more information about what kind of fix we can expect? Does every Office 2016 user have this problem, or does it result from cumulative registry changes or conflicts with other programs?

    Thanks for any information
