Patrick,
First, I fully empathize with you on the frustration and issues this has caused you. But like Tom said, I do not work for Microsoft. MVPs are independent individuals who volunteer their time and expertise to help others use Microsoft products. While our
MVP status gives us contact with the product team we have limited influence. Because of that contact, we have been able to report this bug and have been notified of the progress of a fix. We have, on our own (not at the request or instruction of MS), passed
that information to the community here. If you looked at the post I made before yours, a fix is planned for December. I also, in a previous reply, posted a link to a work around from FMS founder Luke Chung (a fellow MVP).
The product team was made fully aware of the extent of the issue once it was reported. The problem originated, not in Access but in changes made to the overall Office suite that affected this part of Access. As you said, you are not a software engineer,
so while you may think this should have been an easy thing to fix, I can tell you that its not as simple as you might think to find the code involved, work out a fix, test it and set up deploying it. And remember this had to be done in cooperation with the
team that works on the code that caused the problem.
