Hallo everyone,
I am having severe problems with Word 2016, as it does not print the document layout correctly as it somehow messes up the margin when printing.
NOTE: This happens when printing to Adobe Acrobat DC and my physical printer!
My document layout:
• no markup,
• custom margins (set to 1,27cm top / bottom and left / right - my printer can easily handle these...)
• no header or footer
• paper size set to A4 in all settings

The following is picture shows page 1 of my document in "Print Layout"-view. This is how I want the document to look when printed.

Here is a picture of the Print-preview menu. You can see that the Print preview still shows the document exactly as I want it. No problems. No funny settings selected. No "Print Markup" selected.

Now this is what happens when I print the actual document:
The bottom margin changes and suddenly the whole layout is messed up!
Please advise whether this a bug, or some setting I seem to wrongfully configure.
This is really annoying as I sometimes spend hours to get the layout and spacing in a document right, but then when it comes to printing the document, everything is messed up.

It does look like it has something to do with fonts (indeed, if I change to Arial all is ok, but when I use e.g. Minion Pro or Arno Pro, things get messed up) - it's as if Word is messing with the line spacing?
Surely this an annoying bug and I hope it gets fixed asap.

Out of interest:
• I am using Windows 10 x64 TH2. Which OS version do you use?
• I am using Word 2016 x64 Desktop (16.0.4300.1000). Which Word version do you use?
I sent Doug the original document and and he indicated to me that he was able to successfully print both "font"-versions correctly - to both his PDF and his Printer.
I am now trying to determine if the bug is caused as a result of my specific software / hardware setup!?
I have the opposite problem (both on a physical printer and via Acrobat DC, Microsoft PDF printer and XPS - always same result). When printing, tables get split over two pages, lines of text shift to the next page ... I have checked all possible settings, but it's a mystery to me. Fiddling with footer or header height, margins, ...: nothing helps.

Word 2013 has a documented problem with some OpenType fonts; apparently Word 2016 is no improvement in that regard.

Printing to XPS and OpenXPS has the same problem.

I went through all the settings again.
• Header and Footer, both wre set to 0cm. Adjusting the values to 1cm made no differenceto the problem.
• Scale content for A4 or 8.5 x 11" paper sizes was selected, however when I deselected it, the result was the same.

INTERESTING:
When I changed the fonts to Arial, the PDF printed correctly!
The 2 custom fonts I used, are both .otf
Both of these are high quality commercial fonts.
I've never had a problem with regards to spacing, margins and layout using these custom fonts in earlier editions of Word or other software applications (used them in Excel 2016 and Photoshop CC 2015).
