BUG!! Word 2016 fails to print margins correctly / messes up layout (Possible OpenType .otf Font bug)

Hallo everyone,

I am having severe problems with Word 2016, as it does not print the document layout correctly as it somehow messes up the margin when printing.

NOTE: This happens when printing to Adobe Acrobat DC and my physical printer!

My document layout:

• no markup,

• custom margins (set to 1,27cm top / bottom and left / right - my printer can easily handle these...)

• no header or footer

• paper size set to A4 in all settings

The following is picture shows page 1 of my document in "Print Layout"-view. This is how I want the document to look when printed.

Here is a picture of the Print-preview menu. You can see that the Print preview still shows the document exactly as I want it. No problems. No funny settings selected. No "Print Markup" selected.

Now this is what happens when I print the actual document:

The bottom margin changes and suddenly the whole layout is messed up!

Please advise whether this a bug, or some setting I seem to wrongfully configure.

This is really annoying as I sometimes spend hours to get the layout and spacing in a document right, but then when it comes to printing the document, everything is messed up.

    The problem persists. Microsoft have indicated to me recently that it's a one-off problem on my system that they have not seen before! But then I found this forum.


    It's not a Windows problem but a Word problem. It occurs on my PC and on my iPad Pro (I have Office 365, which means Word 2016 on the PC). It only occurs for me with fonts I purchased from Monotype.


    It's a new bug: it did not occur in previous versions up to 2007, my last version of Office. 


    It is not the printers: I have files that displayed fine in 2007 but now they don't. But they still print as they used to. Somewhere MS has introduced a bug that renders the screen for Page Layout and Preview incorrectly. It gets the page length wrong. They appear to have a different software module for screen display and actual printing, and it's the former that's changed.


    


    I have gone back to my earlier version of Office as the only viable solution. But why can't Microsoft admit the problem? Why is it still a problem after more than a year? 


    


    In my experience, this will eventually be put right but surreptitiously, as if nothing had ever happened. This is not the first time I have had such problems with MS. To say I am cynical would be an understatement.

    Did any one found a solution. Cant believe >Printing Doesn't Match Preview is still not solved yet.

    I installed a new computer in August and the problem immediately occurred on a clean install of Windows 10 and Office 365, so it didn't work for me alas ...

    I had a user with this issue, if you're using a weird/non-standard font try uninstalling and reinstalling the problem font, it worked for me.

    And I upgraded to the latest version of Windows 10 this morning, problem still occurs.

    It's not a WIndows version issue. We run Windows 7 Enterprise almost exclusively with a smattering of Macintosh, this is most definitely an Office 2016 issue as it occurs everywhere we have pushed out Office 2016. As we are migrating from Office 2010 skipping 2013 I cannot verify if the issue was occurring in that version as well

    Either a display rendering issue or a printer rendering issue. But one or the other of the two renders is incorrect.
