How can I configure Excel to open only one instance similar to 2010.

Excel 2016 when opened opens only one instance. However, let us know if you are talking about the ability in Excel 2016 to open multiple spreadsheets in the same Excel 2016 window? If yes, then this feature is not available in Excel 2016 and was discontinued since Excel 2013.

    Agreed with both!  Having to open multiple instances was already a function, why eliminate a useful feature.

    Hopefully it will be back soon.

    This can be fixed via the registry.

    Its all or nothing though. But with 32bit excell on 64bit OS and 4GB+ off memory its prefered.

    I think it is important to have this ability.  We have very large sheets and very complex formulas linked up to real time market data.  Having only one instances seems to be a problem.
