Excel 2016 will not open file from file explorer

I cannot get Excel 2016 to open and run a file by clicking on the file from File Explorer. Is there a bug?

The issue got solved by an online repair from the Programs and Features in the Control Panel.

    There are no bugs and any such things in Office 2016. It is perfectly ready for use and in fact it is so much advanced that if any non-trusted file will not get opened in excel. 

    Anyways the permanent Solution for the problem is that you have to go to

    file tab-->options-->Trust center-->Trust center Settings-->Protected View-->under this tab uncheck all the boxes

    And here it is, the final version of Ultimate excel 2016.

    sorry - that's too bad.

    I also had other attendant issues with some of the other "Office 2016 Suite" products.  For instance

    OneNote 2016 not being installed and the "search" functions in Outlook 2016 ("Contacts") didn't work either.

    This made me suspect that there may have been some corruptions or "leakage" from older MS Office Installations.

    I actually did a full uninstall of all older Microsoft Office Products before I tried the "Online Repair" just in case - forgot to mentiuon that step.

    You may need to do a complete UNINSTALL and then REINSTALL the Office 2016 Suite
