I cannot get Excel 2016 to open and run a file by clicking on the file from File Explorer. Is there a bug?

No, it's not a bug it's a feature. If you do the followings you can open your Excel files from a given location:

File --> Settings --> Data Security Center

Push the button on the right corner.

After pushing Data Security Center Settings you can see a dialog box. You should choose the Trusted places and can add your libraries where you store your Excel files.

    It works really.

Online repair doesn't work for me, uninstalling restart and Windows update before reinstalling back solve my problem.

Having installed Office 2016 only yesterday, being told to do a Repair seemed ridiculous, in order to solve my "can't open Excel files by right-clicking in Explorer" problem. But it fixed my problem.

It also fixed an associated problem whereby CSV files downloaded from my bank through Chrome were no longer opening in Excel automatically.

In summary, to perform an Online Repair:

Control panel > Programs and features> Microsoft Office > Change > Online Repair

My Excel 2016 (Office 365) does not open Excel files - even the ones saved as in the latest EXCEL WORKSHEET format. I have read MS reply that ut was rectified this with an 'online correction'. Not in my case!  What do you suggest?
