I cannot get Excel 2016 to open and run a file by clicking on the file from File Explorer. Is there a bug?

    Try this,

Export report from your program, save it to desktop, RIGHT CLICK on excel file you just saved to your desktop, click PROPERTIES, towards the bottom you should see an "UNBLOCK" box (this should disappear when clicked), make sure that is checked, then hit APPLY, then OK. You should get a pop up notification saying "the  file format and extension of "____reportname" don't match, The file could be corrupted or unsafe. Unless you trust it's source, don't open it, Do you want to open it anyway? Click YES and your file should open! Good Luck!

There are no bugs and any such things in Office 2016. It is perfectly ready for use and in fact it is so much advanced that if any non-trusted file will not get opened in excel.

Anyways the permanent Solution for the problem is that you have to go to

file tab-->options-->Trust center-->Trust center Settings-->Protected View-->under this tab uncheck all the boxes

And here it is, the final version of Ultimate excel 2016.

    have a nice excel

Thanks mate! Your solution worked like charm.

    Hi,

I had this issue exporting a report from "Mach Software" by Apache (irrelevant to issue)

If you have an option to save excel file>> Right Click on file>> in the General tab, look at Security at the bottom. There should be an "Unblock" check box "This file came from another computer and might be blocked to help protect this computer" Check the box and re-open file.

    Hope this works!
