I cannot get Excel 2016 to open and run a file by clicking on the file from File Explorer. Is there a bug?

The issue got solved by an online repair from the Programs and Features in the Control Panel.

Excel is not listed as and option. I only what xml converter. Who i get Excel to be an option?
Thanks...this totally fixed my issue of not being able to open files created in earlier versions!
This does not seem to work either.
the permanent Solution for the problem is that you have to go to
file tab-->options-->Trust center-->Trust center Settings-->Protected View-->under this tab uncheck all the boxes
And have a nice excelling
