PowerPoint Mac 2016: The image part with relationship ID rId2 was not found in the file.

AAHHH! I just upgraded to PowerPoint for Mac, Office 2016, and I'm getting this same error. I spent a whole week on a presentation that I'm doing to tomorrow and almost all of my images have disappeared. THIS IS TERRIBLE! I'm not sure what I'm going to do. 

'The image part with relationship ID rId2 was not found in the file'

Is there a fix for this?? Preferably before tomorrow morning? These are all images that I either created or pulled as screen shots. (All jpegs.)

    My software is up to date. I called microsoft and they transferred me 4 times, each time the person struggled with English. In any case, their response was "we can't help you with document specific issues". I find this ridiculous as there are clearly plenty of people with this problem. In contrast, if I ever have a problem with an Apple product (which, unlike microsoft, is a rare occasion) they have someone that speaks clearly and resolves the issue. They even follow up to make sure. I have never had Apple tell me to "pound sand" or that my problem can't be fixed. My solution; I will use Keynote going forward. No way I am wasting several days of work on microsoft again. I find it strange that a company so large as ms has such horrible service.

    You could start by installing updates:

    INSTALL UPDATES:

    I think the first troubleshooting step to take is: Ensure your Mac and Office have the latest updates. Here’s how to install updates:

    Make sure your Mac has a working internet connection, then:

    1. Update Mac OS X. Open the App store and click on the Updates button. Install the updates.
    2. After, in any Office application go to the Help menu and choose Check for Updates to launch the AutoUpdate app. Let AutoUpdate install updates and then restart your Mac.

    If you use Antidote or Silverlight, there is a problem with these apps causing Office to crash if either is not up to date. Update Antidote and Silverlight if you have these products on your Mac.

    I am having the same issue. I spent DAYS on this and as soon as I saved it all of the images, including the template background are popping up with errors. To make matters worse, I am on the phone with microsoft on hold for 40 minutes after being transferred 3 times and now they are just telling me that they can't help!!! I really hate microsoft. What am I supposed to do?

    Okay, 

    so its now Jan 2017 and I have the issue. I just downloaded the new version last week of PPT/ Office 365 with my new MacBook 2016 and I keep receiving the Image part with relationship ID rld3 was not found in the file. There are no updates.

    This has never happened to me on my previous versions of office. I work on PPT EVERYDAY with older versions saving to Dropbox and this has NEVER happened to me. 

    HELP PLEASE.

    some pics were simply copy/pasted from the internet so I don't have a "file" for them. 

    Please don't tell me I have to re-research images!
