Excel Office 365 2016 So Slow that I cannot use it

I upgraded five personal household computers to Windows 10 last week and upgraded my Office 365 subscription to 2016.  Now all five laptops are having major issues running Excel.  Excel is very slow moving between cells and when I copy a large amount of data to new sheet, I have time to play a round of tennis before Excel responds.  Excel is too slow to use anymore.  

I have researched the issue for past 7 days and tried every recommended fix without success.  Apparently a great many users are having similar issues with Excel Office 365 2016.  Preparing to try out Google Docs spreadsheet... anyone using that?

I even brought an old PC out of mothballs with Windows 7 Ultimate but when I installed Office 365 2016 Excel had same slow running issues.  I suspect my Excel problems are in Office 365 2016.  How do I revert back to Office 365 2013? 

I am surprised Microsoft launched Office 365 2016 with this major issue on Excel.

    I have an surface pro 4 I7 16 Gig internal RAM.

    Same problem: slower, slow build up of the screen

    In office 2010 no problem with performance. filesize: 25Mb

    Also thinking to reinstall office 2010.

    Your hardware specifications are much more than adequate to run Office.  The problem you are seeing is a bad interaction between the part of Word that "draws" Word on the screen and some undefined part of Windows.

    The problem first showed up in Word 2013 (I also saw it in Excel 2013). At that time the Word team had completely replaced that part, "subsystem", of Word with a "new & improved" version. Since then MS has released a number of fixes for very specific situations.

    If you read through the question you'll see there are a number of suggestions that have worked for other people. The most common suggestion is to switch the current "Hardware Acceleration" setting(s) (Either in Word and/or Windows).

    Disabling 'hardware graphics acceleration' makes Excel 2016 work properly on my Win10 machine. 

    Re-enabling it makes the problem return.

    Rodel, you already have your answer, turn off Hardware graphics acceleration.

    If ensuring you have all current Office and Windows Drivers updates then, NO, there is no other fix for the problem at this time.

    I downloaded the win10 update but it made no difference.  I then downloaded the driver update as suggested, but the problem with slow movement between cells still persists and Excel is horrible to use.

    Any more suggestions?

    The lack of a fix response to this thread tells you all you need to know about how buried in the software this bug is. I am running on a new NUC with 16GB and W10 Prof, Office 365. I am struggling to even do a Save As. So, what to do? My answer is to move to Google Sheets and not renew Office365. Making unusable software. Bring back Bill!

    Microsoft need to look into excel 2016.

    This is too slow.

    i have tried all suggestion i can find on this platform to no avail.

    Microsoft team should test with large volume data and provide solution.

    Its frustrating using excel since i migrated to office 365 and using Microsoft 2016.

    i have wasted 100s of hours
