Office 2016 uninstalls my Visio 2013

So, even though I had followed the instructions to install Office 2016 from Office 365 home, it was not successful even after 5 tries, restarting, uninstalling, restarting...my biggest issue is Visio 2013. I purchased it as I need it! But why can't I find any way to just upgrade Visio from 2013 to 2016? There is no instruction! I do not want to buy the new Visio 2016 when I only purchased Visio 2013 a few months ago. Please help!!!

    Hi!

I had the same issue. According the following document

    https://support.office.com/en-ie/article/-We-need-to-remove-some-older-apps-error-a225347f-e102-4ea6-9796-5d1ac5220c3b

i have contacted Microsoft, and got new keys for Visio 2016 and Projeckt 2016 without any problems and costs.

    Martin

    Martin,

Would you mind shared how you contact Microsoft?  If via phone call, can you share the number?  That will be very helpful.  Thank you.

Just got hung up by Tech Support the third time when I asked to speak with the manager.  It seems calling the support line is completely useless.  They just hung up on you and hope you get someone else when you call back.

    I did finally resolved it.

I went back to the Account and Billing support link listed in https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/contactus#.  Instead of calling the support line, I selected Chat instead this time.  I chatted with Andrea M.  Sent her the links of the offer page

    Free Upgrade Offer Page

and told her that the support line denied the offer.  Andrea M did not give me any runaround and asked me for the license keys.  In 10 min, she sent me the links to download the Visio Pro 2016 and Project 2016.

    Thank you Andrea M.

If you are still suffering being kicked around by MS Tech Support groups, use the Chat.  The people manning the chat knows what they are doing.

I tried Chatting with Mutya 0 about the issue of Office 2016 and Project 2013 not coexisting.  I gave her the link to the site that says that a free upgrade was available.

She would only transfer me to the Small Business Support.  She finally "hung up" on me with

"I believe we are done now. If you have future concern with your account you can always login to www.account.microsoft.com and if you want to purchase other subscription you can also go to www.office.microsoft.com."

Small Business Support does not have a chat and wanted to charge for support.

It has now been since 10/7/2015 that I have been trying to get this issue resolved.

    Hi Maxwell

Are you styill able to help with the click to run error message as I too have the same issue.   I have Office 2016 Pro Plus installed and want to install Project & Visio Pro 2016 but like the other getting the same error.

I did have Office 2010 Pro Plus along with Project & Visio installed prior to upgrading but I uninstalled these before hand.

    Thanks

    Chris
