So, even though I had followed the instructions to install Office 2016 from Office 365 home, it was not successful even after 5 tries, restarting, uninstalling, restarting...my biggest issue is Visio 2013. I purchased it as I need it! But why can't I find any way to just upgrade Visio from 2013 to 2016? There is no instruction! I do not want to buy the new Visio 2016 when I only purchased Visio 2013 a few months ago. Please help!!!

Hi I have the same issue I have upgraded to office 365 on my surface pro but cannot now run Visio 2013 which I use on regular basis. There seems to be no upgrade path to Visio 2016?

MS .... up, and they have finally agreed to give people a free upgrade to visio 2016.

Let me see if I can explain what's happening here. Our Click-to-Run technology has a limitation where multiple versions of it (2013 and 2016) cannot exist on the same computer. So, when Office is upgraded to 2016, the 2013 versions of Visio and Project become incompatible. We have a solution within Support for that. When you contact Support, let them know you are upgrading your Office 2013 subscription to 2016 and are getting a message that Visio or Project needs to be removed. The support agents are being reminded of this situation and how to resolve it.

Trying to contact support, I have now been passed onto another person 3 times and sitting at 40 minutes on hold..... Not a great experience
