Office 2016 uninstalls my Visio 2013

I'm in the same situation - have upgraded Office365 to 2016 and Visio Pro 2013 (Standalone) has been uninstalled. I simply want the free copy of Visio pro 2016 as mentioned here:

I have spent nearly 3 hours online chatting to 3 different representatives, the last one seemed almost to understand, but I've been told I'll now have to wait between 24 and 48 hours to get resolved.

Could someone please get in touch to get this sorted?

Yep been there. See my post about my experience yesterday. I cancelled a 600.00 purchase of MS Project 2016 because they wouldn't upgrade my Visio 2013, which I can't just have REMOVED.

Sorry you got a run around.  Good customer care and service is the best advertising and sales promotion.

Just shy of 30 years ago my landlord bought a pair of sliding patio doors on sale early in the spring.  Once the weather was nice, about 2 months later, he got around to installing them.  He chopped an 8 foot hole in the wall and only then figured out that his package contained 2 "left hand" doors.  He called the store, explained the problem. Was QUICKLY transferred to a manager. The answer was, "an exchange, no problem. We found your purchase in OUR records, so no need for a receipt".  This is where the snag comes in.  The store was about a 3 hour drive away, across an international border. We couldn't make it to the store in time. The manager remembered that they had another retail customer making a large hardware pickup, with a trailer, who lived in our town.  The store called this other customer and arranged for the other customer to bring our exchange with them (for a case of beer <grin>).  How about returning the one we have?  Still no problem, bring it back the next time you are in town.  The next day the replacement doors arrived and were installed. Those doors were $700.

The name of the store was Maynard Hardware.  Good customer care makes a lasting impression. Hint Hint MS, learn this lesson!  You appear to be trying, but still have not got the message out to all of your support staff!

Let me see if I can explain what's happening here. Our Click-to-Run technology has a limitation where multiple versions of it (2013 and 2016) cannot exist on the same computer. So, when Office is upgraded to 2016, the 2013 versions of Visio and Project become incompatible. We have a solution within Support for that. When you contact Support, let them know you are upgrading your Office 2013 subscription to 2016 and are getting a message that Visio or Project needs to be removed. The support agents are being reminded of this situation and how to resolve it.

No they're not. I was in the phone for 2 hours yesterday. Being bounced around. I finally gave up and dud t upgrade because I can't uninstall Visio. If MSFT tech support knows about this either they are incompetent or you are mis informed.

I contacted the answer desk as per the private message I received. I was asked the normal questions and thought I was getting nowhere fast.

I was then asked for my Visio Pro 2013 product key. Shortly after I was asked to check my email, it contained a link that I followed to my Office Account, low and behold I now had the option to install Visio Pro 2016.

I am very happy with this outcome, it looks like MS has realised their 'work arounds' were not going to fly and have upgraded users to the 2016 versions of the affected applications.

You must have picked the magic number. I spent hours yesterday with the same issue and had to bail on 2016 because I need Visio for work.
