Office 2016 uninstalls my Visio 2013

So, even though I had followed the instructions to install Office 2016 from Office 365 home, it was not successful even after 5 tries, restarting, uninstalling, restarting...my biggest issue is Visio 2013. I purchased it as I need it! But why can't I find any way to just upgrade Visio from 2013 to 2016? There is no instruction! I do not want to buy the new Visio 2016 when I only purchased Visio 2013 a few months ago. Please help!!!

    Your Q relates to Office 2016, yet you posted to the 365 group

    Standalone products eg Viso 2013 are not upgraded when a new version is released, you have to purchase the new version, if required.

    In some circumstances if you purchase a stand alone product and a new version is released a short time later, MS gives an 'upgrade' concession.

    Hi,

    This is a known issue, Install Office 2016 will remove any previous version of Visio. You can reinstall Visio 2013 from your original install media.

    Not according to the installation program. It categorically states that once removed by the Office 2016 installation, the 2013 versions of Visio, Project, InfoPath and SharePoint Developer CANNOT be reinstalled on the same machine.

    This is the DUMBEST, STUPIDEST move to make. I mean, which manager signed off on the idea that it is OK for a version of one program to prevent OTHER versions of OTHER programs from being installed on the same machine. SACK THEM for ultimate stupidity.

    Do they really think we want to have a second computer just to run the other programs?

    You obviously have not tried to tried to install the 2016 versions from your O365 page. 'Office 2016' is EXACTLY how the installation program terms the product when it tells you that it has to uninstall Visio 2013 versions, and that you cannot reinstall them on the same machine.

    They are lamenting that they will lose Visio 2013, nor have any way of making it the 2016 version.

    I think you need to get your facts straight before categorically stating someone else is incorrect!

    You caught me on the day the MS Office lunatics are running amok in the asylum, so I am not too pleased!
