Office 2016 uninstalls my Visio 2013

So, even though I had followed the instructions to install Office 2016 from Office 365 home, it was not successful even after 5 tries, restarting, uninstalling, restarting...my biggest issue is Visio 2013. I purchased it as I need it! But why can't I find any way to just upgrade Visio from 2013 to 2016? There is no instruction! I do not want to buy the new Visio 2016 when I only purchased Visio 2013 a few months ago. Please help!!!

    1. That they reported to the wrong group.
    2. Ignored the core complaint, namely that it deleted the program.

I clicked the link, as an Office 365 Home customer it tells me to go to the Answer Desk which then leads me to a phone number (800) 642-7676 which I am told to call.  Why do I have to call a Phone Number to reinstall Visio 2013 and Project 2013 after I've installed Office 2016?  That's not very smart.

Currently I'm awaiting for Visio 2016 and Project 2016 to go up for sale on HUP (which is where I purchased my 2013 versions) since the cost is very low.  However until they are on HUP I've installed the trial versions of the 2016 software which is good for 60 days.

I hope within 60 days it is either on HUP or Microsoft has resolved the issue and I can install my 2013 versions.

I'm not calling a phone number to waste my time for something that shouldn't be broken.  My time is more valuable than that.

    Hello,

Let me see if I can explain what's happening here. Our Click-to-Run technology has a limitation where multiple versions of it (2013 and 2016) cannot exist on the same computer. So, when Office is upgraded to 2016, the 2013 versions of Visio and Project become incompatible. We have a solution within Support for that. The issue is documented here: https://support.office.com/article/-We-need-to-remove-some-older-apps-error-a225347f-e102-4ea6-9796-5d1ac5220c3b

When you contact Support, let them know you are upgrading your Office 2013 subscription to 2016 and are getting a message that Visio or Project needs to be removed. The support agents are being reminded of this situation and how to resolve it.

I have been a proponent of MS, but this is the worst service I have ever seen.  I've been through 6 service reps with no answer.  Finally made it to pro support, but without a contract, they basically said F-off.  So, MS uninstalls SW which I purchased from them, then denies any mechanism to fix or discuss it.

    I smell class action here.
