Office 2016 uninstalls my Visio 2013

So, even though I had followed the instructions to install Office 2016 from Office 365 home, it was not successful even after 5 tries, restarting, uninstalling, restarting...my biggest issue is Visio 2013. I purchased it as I need it! But why can't I find any way to just upgrade Visio from 2013 to 2016? There is no instruction! I do not want to buy the new Visio 2016 when I only purchased Visio 2013 a few months ago. Please help!!!

Same here, I have perpetual licenses of Project 2013 and Visio 2013, and am also an Office 365 subscriber.

Spent about an hour chatting with 2 MS reps.  The first one confirmed that there was currently no way to run Office 2016 with Visio/Project 2013.  After pointing out the problems, he did say that there was an option for MS to (presumably) remote in and manually install Project/Visio 2016.  He transferred me to a second department.

Second department (after going through the explanation) said that this wasn't possible.  I was assigned a case number, and told that a solution was forthcoming (no ETA, however).

I would truly appreciate someone from MS reaching out to help get this situation resolved (or, better yet, offering a concrete, authoritative statement on what MS is going to do to address the situation and what the timeframe is).

Office Pro Support refused to provide anything and told me to roll back to Office 2013/Visio 2013. Claimed would escalate issue, as the Support people "have not been advised of solution to provide key for 2016 edition".

Getting nowhere fast with this. And corporate MS just doesn't care (individual support people are a different matter); no solution is on offer.

Now you've got the perfect excuse to try that again - they did the damage so are obliged to fix it. In the mean time, install the trial version of Visio Professional 2016 to get you through any immediate need and log a request for them to call you back.

Mine took 4 days to resolve, with numerous (silly) attempts on their part, emails, phone calls...if you wait for MS to fix it without your intervention, things may go horribly wrong for you.

Get in now while their guilt is fresh! Your problem is now the same as mine - except they caused it.

You're on the home stretch now, Steve!

    Deanne,

Just spent the better part of the hours on the phone to Office Support, who installed Office 2016 on my laptop (whichI could have done). They then discovered that the installation package for Visio 2013 won't let you install it alongside Office 2016, which I had told them at the outset. They then attempted to transfer me to another area who apparently k know about Visio, at which point the call dropped out. So, no Visio of any description on my machine.

    Steve
