When moving word 2013 window it drags/lags behind the mouse.

When i move the window it has this weird lag. When i move my mouse it does move but has a clear lag behind it. This isn't so bad because nothing else lags and i can write just fine, but its still annoying if i need to move the window.

Ok, I searched reddit and found this and IT WORKED. I suggest people trying it!

"I do believe it has to do with the mouse and the USB polling frequency.

With a Logitech MX518 with 125Hz I had no problems whatsoever. Ever since I switched to a Logitech G502 with 1000Hz these Office applications started to lag when dragging. You can reproduce this by changing the mouse frequency in the mouse drivers from e.g. 1000Hz to 125Hz. The option is called "Report Rate" in the Logitech Gaming Software. Dunno about other vendor's mouse drivers.

In the end I think it's probably a f*ckup between the high polling frequency of the mouse and therefore high update rate of the cursor and Windows' GUI VSync as well as Excel/Word refreshing the content of the window.

*edit* Since I also have a 120Hz monitor I'm not sure if this is also a factor to consider.

*edit2* Refreshrate of the monitor does NOT matter. So it's solely the high USB polling rate that's causing this."

Hi may i know the outcome of this issue? I just realized i am having this issue as well. There is this sluggishness when i drag the window of excel, word and power point. It react in a retarded manner after my mouse move with it. Please assist.

I'm having the same issue since about a week, and I've tried tried an online repair, not finding my issue fixed, and then attempted to open a file in safe mode, and still the lag persists. It doesn't happen when there isn't a loaded file, but even a blank document causes it.

Thank you for your response.

As repair of Office 2013 did not resolve the issue, to fix the issue we need some more information.

Where are you moving the Word/Excel 2013 windows to and how are you moving it? Are you resizing the Word/Excel 2013 windows down to a smaller size before moving them across?

Also, try the following steps:

Open Word 2013 and Excel 2013 in the Safe Mode and check if you are able to drag/move the application windows without a lag.

Follow the steps as suggested in the following Microsoft Article to open Word 2013 and Excel 2013 applications in the Safe Mode:

Note: The above article lists steps for all Microsoft Office 2013 application/s, however, follow the steps to open the applications/programs in the Safe Mode for which you are experiencing the issue – in your case Word 2013 and Excel 2013.

Once Word and Excel have been opened in the Safe Mode, try opening a Word document and an Excel file within the applications and check if you are able to move the Word and Excel windows normally without a drag/lag.

Check the above and let us know the result.

I did the repair thing and unfortunately it didn't help. I also tried some other office products. Excel also had this, but powerpoint didn't. And it's only office products as far as i know.
