How do I convert .wps files to word 2016?

How do I convert files created on a vista system with .wps extensions to be read/used in word 2016.  Unable to find any converters on the office web site.

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=12 should work with 64 bit Windows, but may not work with 64 bit versions of Word. It only works with files from Works versions 6 to 9. For earlier Works versions you will need the very old filters linked from the downloads page of my web site.

Alternatively, use File Merlin to convert the files to Word format.

    I have Windows 10 and Microsoft Office, and my converter needs to be updated too, but I also get an incorrect URL.

    Tried to do everything mentioned above and all I got was this:

    We are sorry, the page you requested cannot be found.

    The URL may be misspelled or the page you're looking for is no longer available.

    Any other ideas? I have Windows 7 and Microsoft Works.
