You have better chances of winning a $1million in the lottery than getting a timeline reply from MS on this question. The only answer they have given is "manyana"
If this is a serious issue for you and you have 365, you can look into upgrading back to Office 2013 so you can get that feature back.
Since you are a "large" customer, a "fed", you probably have an site license that includes enhanced support. Talk to your help desk. If you do have that type of support they will have a "account support" contact at MS. This gives you an inside track to
get a better answer. If it is a serious enough issue, your office may want to "vote with your feet" and buy some other product (making sure MS knows why they are being dropped). That appears to be the best way to get their attention ... Of course that incurrs
other costs, so it is a question of costs vs benefits ... (like any purchase).

If you made a one-time purchase of Office 2013 or Office 2016 (not a subscription to Office 365), you can download the install files directly to your computer.
Important Downloading the install files can take quite a while. Please be sure your computer stays powered on and connected to the Internet while downloading.
Sign in to your My Account page.
Choose Install from a disc.
Choose I want to burn a disc, and then choose Download.
Save the installation file to your computer and then run it to install Office.
