Phantom Drop down boxes in excel 2016

I use lots of data validation drop down list and recently some phantom boxes have been appearing in my spreadsheets.  You can select the grey arrow but the list is empty.  You then select the cell to get the correct data validation list, which appears to overlay the the box.  Can anyone help?  I created a new spreadsheet from scratch and it appeared to have fixed it but today i opened the spreadsheet and once again i have phantom drop down lists!!!

I removed all the data validation from the cell and it still remained!

Can anyone help?

    Let's try again.  Don't forget to vemove the spaces around the @ symbol.

    Hi Thao,

    Windows 10 Pro x64 is correct, and I am on a laptop without touchscreen. Also, I cannot see your email address and do not know how to private message you the sample workbook.

    Thank you for your response.

    I am going to assume you're using Win10Pro x64.  Another question, are you on a desktop, tablet, or laptop?  While this usually doesn't matter, we have been seeing Office issues on Win10 with touchscreen laptop/tablet.

    If you can send the sample workbook to <username>@Microsoft.com, I'll investigate and report what I find.

    Hi, 

    I am experiencing the same issue which has seemed to be developing since installing Excel 2016 and only noticing these issues in the last 3 weeks. 

    Using Windows 10 Pro

    Office 365 subscription V 16.0.6366.2062

    Excel 2016 MSO 16.0.6326.1022 32-bit

    I can private message you a copy of the workbook.

    I am from the Excel Desktop team and will assist you in this issue.

    Can you provide some information about your scenario:

    • What is your OS (Win8.1/Win10/etc) (x86 or x64) ?
    • What is your Excel version? (x86 or x64) ?
    • Can you provide a screen shot of the issue?
    • Can you provide a sample workbook exhibiting the issue since I couldn't repro?
