switching between worksheets in Excel 2016 on Mac

Does anyone know how can I switch between different open worksheets in Excel 2016 on Mac with a keyboard shortcut? 

It does not seem to work as it did in previous version or the way it works on Windows unfortunately.

Or is there a way to have two different Excels open on Mac simultaneously?

Just hit  "Command + ~", thats work for me

Office 2016 version 15.12.3 (150724)

While i have been using excel for over 25 years, only within the last two months have I been using it on a Mac.  Clearly, excel is a much more robust program on a PC then a Mac. 

Since using MSFT office (excel) on the Mac, the only way I found to switch between work books was CTRL + Tab works.  Yesterday I installed Office 365 and while CTRL + Tab no longer works, CMD + ~ will switch between works books.

This rambling thread has intermixed feedback from many users over an extended period of time. It refers to numerous update levels of Office 2016 (most of which now are obsolete) running on 2 different editions of OS X and the comments jump between 3 different aspects of "switching";

  • Switching between application windows,
  • Switching between open workbook windows, &
  • Switching between worksheets within a workbook

In order to address a current issue it always is best to submit a new message stating all factors pertinent to your situation rather than adding to another conversation. In that way you can avoid getting tangles up in the melee. In fact, new postings to Answered questions often go unseen altogether.

Also, "Office 365" is not a version of the Microsoft Office software, it's Microsoft;s marketing name for their software subscription service. Make sure to indicate your actual version of Office as well as its specific update level.

    I've just updated my MS Excel to 2016, and I'm dismayed by the lack of an easily discoverable way to move between worksheets that are widely separated.  Since I regularly work with Workbooks that contain 40 or more worksheets, and I move around between those sheets freely, I miss the left & right arrows in the bar at the foot of the screen in Excel 2011 that enabled me to view worksheet tabs before choosing which worksheet I wanted to view on-screen.  Now, it seems that I have to move between worksheets one at a time before I can view the one I really want to see; if this is more than a couple of sheets away from my current sheet, this is very time-wasting, and very frustrating.

    Does anyone know of a way to view those tabs without opening all worksheets?

    Now I see it; when hovering the cursor over the two arrows in the bar at the foot of the screen (what is that called again?), I get an instruction to Cmd + left click, which promises to show me the tabs at the far left (the 'first' tab), or the far right (the 'last' tab).  I couldn't get this to work at first, until I discovered that the cursor needs to be not directly over either arrow when Cmd clicking.  Place the cursor to the left of the left arrow and Cmd + left click, and the left-most tabs become visible, while placing the cursor to the right of the right arrow enables Cmd +  left click to show me the right-most tabs.  Just right-clicking anywhere in the box containing the arrows brings up an Activate window listing all of my worksheets, enabling me to select the worksheet I want; the window is draggable anywhere on screen, disappears once the worksheet selection is made, but will reappear in the chosen location upon its next summons.

    This is not as simple as I have been used to, but I suppose I will adjust:-(
