I have MS office 2013 email attachments when being opened are displaying "Microsoft word protect view has stopped working" (same for excel) and closes the document. Any clues

Hi everyone!
The updated driver is now available via Windows Update as well. If you happened to disable hardware acceleration as a workaround before the driver was available, you should re-enable it to avoid potential performance issues. More info here on how to do that.

thank you very much. i passed a lot of weeks looking for a solution on that matter. reinstalling office in 32 bits, 64 bits, resetting windows making downgrade to windows 7, windows 8.1 and then again upgrading to win 10.
i believe this solution must be posted with other titles like: "outlook 2013 / 2016 preview handler doesnt works" or some like that.
Unfortunately when I tried to check for updates, it informed me that my system was up to date and no update for the DisplayLink driver was available. I recently upgraded to Windows 10 Pro from the Home edition as well. Any additional help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Regarding the same issue, protected view problem, I called the MS and was trnasfered to a call center in New Delhi, India. I was with them on the phone for more than 2 hours still they could not find the solution for the problem. It was shame. Out of desperation, because my office emails and other important works are backing up, I did google search and found the solution - got it fixed my self in less than 30 sec. Thanks so much for the post - very valuable. May be MS should re-train their staff- atleast teach them to google it.
