OneNote (OSX) Language Proofing

Hey everyone, 

I have OneNote for my MacBook (the default language is English) and when I set the proofing language to Spanish (I'm studying at a University in Chile), it seems to go back to English after a few minutes of writing. I know there is a solution for this with OneNote for Windows, but has anyone found a solution for the OSX version?

    I am glad that MS is obviously looking into this. This is really annoying when you create notebooks in different languages as given in many examples in this thread. Please fix it soon, MS!

    Hi Marcelo,

    Thanks for the feedback on how you use your keyboard. I know there are different ways to remap keyboards in OSX, but can you explain the steps that you use? Also which languages are you doing this for and why are you making the changes?

    1. When I  pressing the "." in the numeric keypad, in several programs I wrote one ","

          My no good to me. 

    1. Use a keyboard layout called MACACOS and worked well until the ONENOTE came. http://www.macacos.com.uy/foros/viewtopic.php?id=9154
    2. I use  the UKELELE program for remap the keyboard and edit the ONENOTE keyboard accepted as a basis. To edit it and put it on the KEYBOARD LAYOUTS folder but ONENOTE not recognized it.

    And now i use 2 keyboard layout. 1 for ONENOTE and 1 for all programs...  :(

    1. Al presionar el "." del teclado numerico en varios programas me escribia una "," . A mi no me sirve. 
    2. Use un keyboard layout llamado MACACOS y funcionaba bien hasta que salio el ONENOTE.
    3. Utilice el UKELELE y edite el teclado que el ONENOTE acepta, como base. Al editarlo y ponerlo en la carpeta KEYBOARD LAYOUTS no lo toma.

    Hi Chris,

    This is definitely an issue, the one that is keeping me from switching to OneNote for Mac OS X. Good app overall, with good sync with iPad and iPhone apps. But I write in a few languages. In Mac OS X programs, the recognition of the language is usually automatic which is great. In Office 2011, it is not automatic, but at least once you set the language for a text, the language does not revert to the default or keyboard at each new paragraph, so you set the language for a document, or part of a document and go on typing. on the iPad, the proofing language is set by the keyboard, but I can use an AZERTY keyboard to type and proof in English and the keyboard switch is easily accessible, so that works. On OneNote for Mac OS X, the language for each new paragraph is reset to the keyboard language! Just impossible to deal with. Please fix this bug as soon as possible!

    Hi Logan,

    Thanks for your feedback on Mac OneNote.

    We are aware and are investigating some issues with setting of proofing languages.

    In general, the proofing language is set by your keyboard language setting. So when you create new paragraphs or text blocks we set the proofing language based on the keyboard language.

    yes this is a keyboard setting issue. 

    to resolve: make sure that your input source under keyboard settings is the right language (the one you want to use - if you have more than one). if selecting the correct one does not resolve the issue, remove the one that is causing a problem - this will definitely resolve it.
