OneNote (OSX) Language Proofing

This is beyond annoying.  I'm writing correct English and it's underlying common words in red that are correctly spelt, like "colour" and "realise".

I have an en_US for various reasons, but that doesn't mean I'm writing American.  Please fix this and let me choose the default language, or use my system settings rather than the keyboard layout.  This is a really basic mistake that's totally inconsistent with virtually every other piece of software out there.

Same problem as most people here. I type in french (sometimes english but mostly french) with a french computer and I have to reset the language at each paragraph and it is getting very annoying...

Thinking about switching to Pages or Evernote, but OneNote is what I used to use of my Windows computer and it is by far the best app for lessons...

Really want a fix for that, plus it doesn't really seem complicated to do...

Still waiting. I have been trying out notebook apps and to be fair this is the best I have tried so far but having to reset the language every paragraph is so annoying. I don't touch type (have to look at the keys) and have a German QWERTZ keyboard plus I often write in German so want the Umlaut keys but my main language is English. Endless squiggly red lines and inability to check text is driving me crazy.

Hey everyone, 

I have OneNote for my MacBook (the default language is English) and when I set the proofing language to Spanish (I'm studying at a University in Chile), it seems to go back to English after a few minutes of writing. I know there is a solution for this with OneNote for Windows, but has anyone found a solution for the OSX version?

Same problem with Portuguese language. It's annoying.

Microsoft when you'll get fix it?

I've dumped One Note for Evernote, I can't wait for Microsoft fixes.
