I have switched to mostly Web view in 2010, alternating with Outline view. I actually set up a couple of macros and keyboard shortcuts to make switching easier.
If you want to maintain approximate margins, you can do that by adjusting the width of the application window. I also have rotated my "widescreen" monitor into "Portrait" orientation to show more of my document content. Actually I was working with a dual monitor setup, portrait and landscape, until my laptop monitor when .its up.
