Rotate PDF's in OneNote

I noticed that OneNote always displays PDF's sideways after inserting them using the File Printout command.  I read some discussions where MS tried to say it had something to do with the printer driver in Adobe, etc., etc.  I don't understand why I have to install a 3rd party program (Onetastic) which does plenty of good things, but I really only use it for the rotate PDF menu that it provides.  Did the MS engineers just get too tired to include this very basic, totally necessary feature?

    One suggestion I can give is, instead of using Insert > File Printout, open the file first and then use Print command in the application (e.g. Adobe) and choose your orientation there. This will do the same insertion, but with the correct orientation.

    I had this same problem.  Adobe (and other pdf software for that matter) would display my documents on the screen properly in landscape mode, but they would display the documents sideways when printing to OneNote.

    I would only further clarify the advice above that says to choose the orientation (landscape) while printing.  Do this by selecting "print" from within your pdf software, selecting "OneNote as your print destination, BUT ALSO click PROPERTIES and check "landscape."  For me it would then print properly to OneNote in landscape orientation.  Just elaborating a bit on the excellent solution above

    Wow Omer Atay.

    I have been looking  for "forever" for something like this and I had no idea you had developed the OneTastic tool to rotate PDF file printouts. Usually, there isn't a problem in OneNote with printouts until you try something oversized (like Award Certificates, for instance). Anything that originally appears in landscape mode as well.

    Both your explanation above and the tool itself have made my day as I couldn't figure it out. Now all is well! It works completely awesome and thank you so much for making it!!

    I love Onenote and Onetastic addin, which help me very much. Thank you for your wonderful work.

    Actually, I have a problem with it. Could you please help me or help us to solve this problem? Onenote 2013 is a great software, and the function of “linked notes” is really awful. I have a lot of pdf files, but I cannot make “linked notes” with them. Could you please develop another addin for this function, which will benefit all of the Onenote users? And I think this would be very easy for you.

    Hi Omer -

    Thanks very much for creating the PDF rotation solution. I installed it and it worked perfectly - I had close to 100 pages I had to rotate so your solution is a life saver. Having an ability to do a bulk rotation - select a set of pages and tell OneNote to rotate them all 90 degrees right would be wonderful.
