Can't open doc - says moved, renamed or deleted

I am trying to open a document in Word but a dialogue box keeps telling me:

"Sorry, we couldn't find your file.  Is it possible it was moved, renamed or deleted?"

It then states the correct name of the document and where I filed it.

I am using Windows 8

Microsoft 365 and Office | Word | For home | Windows

    And, do you see the document if you go to that location with the File Explorer?

    I have the same issue.

    I am trying to open CSV's and Excel documents on a networked drive and receive this error.

    I am trying to access them directly from the folder and not via Recent Documents.

    I have tried another machine and get the same issue.

    My colleagues can open them from my machine so spears to be an issue with my profile.

    1. Does the issue occurs with specific document or with all the saved documents in the Computer?
    2. Where is the file located in the Computer?
    3. Are you trying to open the document from the recent list within the Word application?

    it is specific documents , I'm not sure I thought it was saved on c:users/mary/desktop , and multiple ways I have attempted to open it just not in the recent list
