Can't open doc - says moved, renamed or deleted

I am trying to open a document in Word but a dialogue box keeps telling me:

"Sorry, we couldn't find your file.  Is it possible it was moved, renamed or deleted?"

It then states the correct name of the document and where I filed it.

I am using Windows 8

Microsoft 365 and Office | Word | For home | Windows

    If you were indeed clicking a link to a recent file there is no way to update that link so that it references the correct location. You will have to delete the incorrect link. Right-click the entry and choose to remove it from the list (this option is not available in all versions of Word).

    I does open when I go to my documents but how do I revise the document in word where it was originally made?

    1. Does the issue occurs with specific document or with all the saved documents in the Computer?
    2. Where is the file located in the Computer?
    3. Are you trying to open the document from the recent list within the Word application?

    The issue occurs with all of my word files.

    How are you trying to open the file? If you are clicking an entry in the list of recent files, perhaps the document has been moved, or the location is currently unavailable for some reason.

    Navigate to the folder where you saved the document and try opening it from there.
