Powerpoint will not scale properly on second monitor

I hear your pain and coukdnt agree more. My fix is to only use my external monitor which means I 'm denied the convenience of two screens. Incredible stuff up.

I have the same concern with my Surface 4 / Power point / external Screen.

And yes the True->False swap in the manifest solve the problem until the next update of Office.

And it's not limited to Power Point, the clip tool is also very big on my external screen.

I call Microsoft and report about this well-known concern, they told me this will be fixed with the next Win10 version to be deployed for Win 10 1st anniversary.

If an Insider (Fast or Slow) is reading this, he/she might confirm that this issue is solved in the next Redmond Versions.

So I am waiting till the end of the month (supposed deployment date)..full of hope.

Just have just spent £1300 on a Microsoft rather than Apple laptop as self-employed independent consultant. Really pleased except for Powerpoint - which is a joke on an external monitor. I spend my life in Powerpoint and like to do most of my work on a larger screen when not on the road. This is a real deal breaker for me. I am going to test if Apple native Office has similar issues and break decades of Windows use to switch to Mac. Appalled that this has been known for years, has been resolved in Word/Excel/Outlook, yet everyone here is trying to code workarounds. WHAT ARE YOU DOING MICROSOFT????????

I have to echo Zeh Muller's well crafted statement:

The ONLY solution to this problem would be: Powerpoint Developers: Read about what your Windows Developer colleages at Microsoft intended with enabling Windows 8.1/10 to have different High-DPI settings on different monitors and JUST FIX YOUR BUGS! You may want to ask your Word and Excel Developer colleagues how they were able to just make their programs work. AND You may also ask your Surface Product Manager colleagues what they think about shipping a software which shows its bugs best if run on one of the high-end high-dpi and high-priced flagship Surface devices.

It worked for me! Thanks so much. My only additional suggestion is to look for the .exe powerpoint file in Windows>Program Files>Microsoft Office 15>root

(even though I'm using Office 13....)

I also renamed the preexisting manifest file POWERPNT.EXE.original just in case.

Thanks for the explanation as to why the settings I'd changed to make PPT work suddenly reverted to the old problem.

I agree it's extraordinary that MS can't make their own software work on their own hardware platform.

The only work-around I've found its to start up with the second screen only enabled, open PPT, then I enable the Surface screen and open Outlook or whatever in that screen. But even that can get confused and revert to the old problem without rhyme or reason.

We await MS  to solve the problem.
